Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic brand-new, modern dental practice opening in Ashburn, VA. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. We are currently building our founding team. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials. Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques. Take dental X-rays and ensure proper safety protocols are followed. Maintain accurate medical documentation for patient records. Manage patient flow by preparing treatment rooms and ensuring patients are comfortable. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Utilize dental software such as Oryx for scheduling appointments and managing patient information. Support pediatric dentistry procedures with a friendly approach to ensure a positive experience for young patients. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to coordinate appointments and manage patient inquiries. Experience Candidates should possess the following skills and experience: Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques relevant to dentistry. Familiarity with 3D scanning technology is a plus. Previous experience in dental assisting or working as a dental receptionist is preferred. Proficiency in taking X-rays and understanding their interpretation. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in medical documentation. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a calm demeanor with patients. Have a positive, professional attitude. Dependable and punctual. Communicate clearly and warmly with patients. Provide patient education. Thrive in a team-oriented environment. Detail-oriented and very organized. Are CPR/BLS certified (or willing to obtain certification).
