Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary instruments, materials, and supplies to ensure smooth workflow. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and traditional radiography tools. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic to document patient information accurately and efficiently. Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures to ensure patient safety. Provide chairside assistance by handling dental terminology, assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques, and managing vital signs during procedures. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist, verifying insurance details, and updating medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Experience Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Hands-on experience with dental assisting duties including X-ray taking, chairside assisting, and infection control practices. Knowledge of EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing medical records and documentation. Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge related to oral structures, and proficiency in medical coding related to dental procedures. Experience supporting pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is highly desirable. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including 3D scanners and X-ray machines confidently. Strong communication skills for collaborating effectively with dentists, patients, and team members while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
