Duties Assist dentists chairside during general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and maintaining aseptic techniques in accordance with infection control protocols Take and develop dental X-rays and other medical imaging using advanced equipment such as 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft, to accurately document medical history, treatment plans, and procedural notes Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and acting as a dental receptionist to enhance patient experience Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation for pediatric patients or those requiring special care Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to ensure precise communication and recordkeeping Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with familiarity in dental assisting procedures Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or equivalent software for managing medical records and documentation Knowledge of infection control standards including aseptic technique and sterilization processes Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and accurately while following radiation safety guidelines Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry Experience with chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and handling dental instruments efficiently Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and working with pediatric patients preferred Certification in CPR/BLS is highly desirable; additional certifications in endodontics or prosthodontics are a plus Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a real difference!
