Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions to develop personalized care plans. Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while maintaining proper aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Review and update medical records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support the dental team with chairside assisting, documentation review, and maintaining a sterile environment aligned with infection control standards. Requirements Valid licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current state certification or licensing requirements. Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation and record keeping. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding practices. Experience in infection control procedures, aseptic technique, and maintaining a sterile clinical environment. Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and patient assessment confidently.
