Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support during orthodontic procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental assisting practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist the orthodontist during various procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and patient comfort. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols. Take X-rays and perform necessary diagnostic imaging as required for treatment planning. Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize Dentrix software for scheduling appointments, managing patient information, and billing processes. Engage with patients, providing education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Support four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Collaborate with team members to ensure a positive experience for patients of all ages, including pediatrics. Operate 3D scanners for orthodontic impressions when necessary. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting practices, including knowledge of endodontics and general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with X-ray technology and safety protocols. Strong understanding of medical documentation practices and HIPAA compliance. Experience using Dentrix or similar dental management software is preferred. Ability to perform four-handed dentistry effectively in a clinical setting. Excellent interpersonal skills to interact positively with patients, especially children in pediatric settings. Knowledge of 3D scanning technology is a plus but not required.
