Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our vibrant dental team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance during pediatric dental procedures, ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for young patients. Duties Assist the dentist during various pediatric dental procedures, including exams, cleanings, restorations, and orthodontic treatments Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use in accordance with infection control protocols Take and process dental X-rays using digital imaging technology as well as Phosophor storage plates Maintain accurate medical documentation and records using Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Educate young patients and their guardians on oral hygiene practices, dental procedures, and post-treatment care to promote good dental health habits Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and assisting with front desk duties as a dental receptionist when needed Qualifications Experience in dental assisting is a bonus Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures specific to pediatric dentistry Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in four-handed dentistry setups to optimize patient care and workflow Skilled in taking X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scanning technologies, while maintaining safety standards for children Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical coding, and medical records management related to pediatrics Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with young patients, parents, and team members Certification in CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) is preferred but not required; ongoing training will be provided for the right candidate Join us to be part of a dedicated team that values compassionate care, technical excellence, and continuous learning.
