Job Title: Dental Assistant / Expanded Function Dental Assistant Location: Charles City, IA & New Hampton, IA Schedule: Monday - Wednesday: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (Charles City or New Hampton) Thursday: Charles City: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM New Hampton: 7:00 AM - 12:30 PM Friday: Off (Optional to work the other half of Thursday) Compensation: $20 - $30 per hour (based on experience) ** SIGN ON BONUS! Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant or Expanded Function Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team in Charles City and New Hampton, Iowa. Our practice offers a supportive environment where you can grow professionally while delivering exceptional care to our patients. Responsibilities: Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment Take dental radiographs (x-rays) Manage infection control â prepare and maintain instruments, equipment, and materials Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health Assist with administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records. Perform office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computer Communicate with patients and suppliers (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing, and ordering supplies) Support our dentists and hygienists in delivering quality patient care, ensuring a seamless and efficient clinical experience. Requirements: Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is a must Certification or degree from an accredited dental assisting program preferred Current CPR certification Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a general dentistry setting is highly valued. Knowledge of medical terminology and dental clinic procedures is essential. Familiarity with dental systems and software is a significant advantage.
