Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Des Moines, IA
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled part time Dental Hygienist to join our team for a two day work week , in a single doctor office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for promoting oral health and hygiene, educating patients on proper dental care, and assisting the dental team in delivering high-quality services. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings and periodontal treatments for patients. Assess patients' oral health by reviewing medical records and conducting examinations. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits. Document patient care and treatment plans accurately in the electronic medical records system. Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures as needed. Maintain infection control protocols and adhere to aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Stay current with advancements in dental hygiene practices and participate in ongoing professional development. Qualifications Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist. Proficiency in using dental software systems, preferably Dental Office Xpress, and XrayVision. Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices. Experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. Commitment to providing high-quality patient care with attention to detail.
