Part-Time Dental Hygienist – Periodontal & Implant Specialty Practice Puget Sound Periodontics – Federal Way, WA Puget Sound Periodontics is seeking a motivated and patient-centered Dental Hygienist to join our periodontal and dental implant specialty practice in Federal Way. Our practice features 11 operatories and a collaborative surgical team focused on delivering exceptional periodontal and implant care. This position offers the opportunity to practice hygiene at a high clinical level while working closely with experienced periodontists in a modern, technology-forward environment. Our hygienists play an important role in patient care and are valued members of our clinical team. We provide a practice setting where hygienists can work with a high degree of autonomy , contribute their clinical expertise, and grow professionally within a supportive team culture. Clinical Responsibilities Dental hygienists in our practice provide comprehensive periodontal hygiene services including: Periodontal maintenance therapy Initial periodontal therapy (scaling and root planing) Assisting periodontists with advanced periodontal procedures such as LANAP® Providing local anesthesia support for surgical procedures Working collaboratively with our surgical team to deliver periodontal and implant care Our hygienists are also certified through our practice to use the Periolase Millennium Laser , allowing them to participate in advanced periodontal treatment protocols. Appointment Structure We intentionally structure our schedule to allow hygienists the time needed to deliver excellent care. 70 minutes for periodontal maintenance visits 2 hours for scaling and root planing appointments Technology & Tools Our practice uses advanced technology to support clinical care and improve efficiency. Hygienists in our office utilize: Intraoral photography Digital radiography and panoramic imaging Cone Beam CT imaging AI-assisted tools for chart documentation and clinical correspondence Experience with these technologies is helpful but not required , as training is available. Compensation We offer a base hourly compensation of $69.50 , which reflects the standard rate for our region. In addition, hygienists can who perform will receive in lieu of their hourly pay whenever their production (calculated at 37%) exceeds their hourly rate. This production-based compensation system is highly attractive to strong providers. Most of our providers regularly exceed their base hourly rate through this structure.
