Job Overview Harborview Kids Dental and Orthodontics is a thriving dental clinic with this new location in Covington. We provide dental care to kids and comprehensive orthodontics treatments for patients of all ages. Our commitment to exceptional care begins with exceptional people. With this goal, we are seeking a dedicated Dental Assistants to join our clinical team. You will report to your dentist of the clinical team and practice under the dentist's license. In this vital role, you will provide support for clinical procedures, provide care and comfort to our patients, and complete clinical tasks assigned by the dentist. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, efficient, detail-oriented, team-oriented, and passionate about delivering exceptional dental care to little ones and families. Responsibilities Assist dentists chairside during various dental procedures, including restorations, extractions, and orthodontics treatments. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as cephalometric, panoramic, and intraoral X-ray. Maintain accurate medical documentation in dental EHR systems (Open Dental) while in compliance with HIPAA. Advocate patient care by guiding individuals through the healthcare system, helping them understand diagnoses and manage treatment plans, and offering emotional support. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote overall dental health. Support infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures. Supporting clinic management. Qualifications A high school diploma or GED. Active CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate. Active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license. At least 2 years of experience as dental assistant. Experience in pediatric or orthodontic dental assistant is preferred. Working knowledge of dental documentation and coding standards. Self-motivated, efficient, quick learner, detail-oriented, team-oriented, ethical, compassionate.
