We also are a smaller dental office with very solid relationships between our team members - ie.....no drama, although we do laugh a lot! Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to strict infection control and aseptic techniques. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, supporting proper medical coding for billing purposes. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting. Proven experience in general dentistry. Proficiency with dental office software such as or Dentrix, along with experience in EMR systems. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and HIPAA regulations. Skilled in chairside assisting techniques, including taking vital signs and medical imaging procedures. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively. Ability to review medical records thoroughly and support documentation review processes accurately. Develop rapport with the patients, be able to laugh it up with them, and have a good time working, that's paramount. Must not have killed any prior dental patient although you may have wanted to.
