Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories to ensure safe and effective treatment plans Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures, ensuring comfort and safety for young patients Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix to document patient information accurately and efficiently Support chairside assisting during various dental procedures, maintaining aseptic techniques and infection control standards Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and dietary advice for optimal dental health Review medical records and documentation to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and accurate recordkeeping Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting Proven experience in general dentistry, with additional expertise in pediatric dentistry preferred Proficiency in dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes Familiarity with EMR systems Open Dental for efficient patient record management Strong knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, anatomy, and medical imaging procedures Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse age groups, including pediatrics Ability to work seamlessly in a fast-paced environment utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal efficiency Join us in creating healthier smiles!
