Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared efficiently. Perform chairside assisting with precision, including taking and developing X-rays, operating dental imaging equipment such as 3D scanners, and managing medical documentation. Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and uphold health standards in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix, accurately documenting medical history, treatment plans, and procedural notes. Support administrative tasks by acting as a dental receptionistâscheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and guiding patients through their visit process. Monitor vital signs and assist in medical assessments when necessary to ensure patient well-being during treatment. Implement infection control procedures and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment to promote safety and efficiency. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to communicate effectively with team members and patients. Experience with dental assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry to improve workflow efficiency. Ability to operate dental X-ray machines safely while adhering to radiation safety standards; familiarity with medical imaging technology is a plus. Understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices to provide compassionate care tailored for young patients. Familiarity with dental specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry procedures; experience working with diverse patient populations is preferred.
