Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient experience. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in electronic health record (EHR) system (CURVE), adhering to HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term dental health. Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination within the dental clinic. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current credentials to practice in a clinical setting. Proven experience working in general dentistry or dental clinics, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and HIPAA compliance. Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and medical imaging procedures. Ability to assess patient needs accurately through vital signs monitoring and patient care practices.
