Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring an aseptic environment Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while maintaining proper radiation safety protocols Manage patient records using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate medical documentation and coding Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and comfort Support infection control practices in accordance with HIPAA regulations and OSHA standards Skills Proficiency in dental assisting procedures including dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology Experience with dental software platforms like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation Skilled in taking X-rays, utilizing 3D scanners, and performing medical imaging with precision Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices to effectively assist young patients Ability to communicate clearly with patients and team members; experience as a dental receptionist is a plus Familiarity with medical coding related to dental procedures and documentation requirements Embark on a rewarding journey where your skills make a difference every day!
