Registered Dental Assistant - Sea Coral Dentistry - Gloucester, MA

Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our growing dental team. The ideal candidate will play an important role in delivering excellent patient care while assisting the dentist during a variety of procedures. This position requires knowledge of general dentistry, strong communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and dental procedures to ensure efficient workflow and patient comfort. Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials prior to procedures. Clean, sterilize, and organize dental instruments following proper infection control and aseptic protocols. Take dental X-rays and handle radiographic equipment according to safety guidelines. Update patient charts, clinical notes, and treatment information using Open Dental . Support four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency during procedures. Assist with charting during treatment and ensure accurate documentation in the patient record. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment procedures, and post-treatment care. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment and assist with room turnover between patients. Monitor and restock dental supplies and assist with inventory management when needed. Requirements Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar clinical role preferred. Experience using Open Dental or other dental practice management software is a plus. Knowledge of general dentistry procedures and chairside assisting techniques. Understanding of infection control protocols and sterilization procedures. Experience taking dental X-rays; certification may be required depending on state regulations. Familiarity with digital imaging systems or 3D scanners is an advantage. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when documenting patient information.
