Duties Assist dentists during various procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, using aseptic techniques and maintaining infection control standards Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, including medical imaging tools like X-ray machines and 3D scanners Take vital signs and perform basic medical documentation to support accurate patient records Manage appointment scheduling efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Epic, ensuring optimal patient flow Verify patient insurance information and handle medical coding to streamline billing processes Educate patients on dental terminology, procedures, and post-treatment care to enhance understanding and comfort Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy Requirements Proven experience in dental assisting within a general or pediatric dentistry setting; familiarity with dental clinic operations is essential Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for scheduling and medical documentation Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, anatomy, dental terminology, and medical terminology Ability to perform chairside assisting tasks including X-ray taking, vital signs measurement, and four-handed dentistry techniques Experience with medical imaging tools like X-ray machines and 3D scanners preferred Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and backgrounds Join us in creating healthier smiles!
