Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain the dental operatory, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring adherence to safety standards. Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately in EMR systems. Manage patient flow and assist with scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist when needed. Educate patients on oral hygiene care and post-treatment instructions. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize dental software such as open dental management and documentation. Support pediatric dentistry practices by providing compassionate care to younger patients. Assist with various dental specialties including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics. Experience Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred. Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and 3D scanners is advantageous. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices is essential. Experience with medical coding and documentation is a plus. Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Epic is beneficial but not mandatory.
