Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current oral health status. Take and interpret dental radiographs (medical imaging) using advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems. Assist with chairside procedures in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Review and update medical records accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Skills Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and record management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience in pediatric dentistry and working with children (pediatrics), providing compassionate care tailored to young patients. Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement and patient assessment efficiently. Skilled in dental assisting procedures, including chairside assisting during various treatments. Knowledge of infection control standards, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination.
