Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental concerns Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while maintaining proper infection control protocols Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix Follow strict aseptic techniques and infection control procedures in accordance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient safety Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings preferred Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control standards Ability to perform chairside assisting duties effectively during various procedures in pediatric and adult dentistry Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach tailored to pediatric patients when necessary Knowledge of HIPAA compliance, medical records management, and documentation review processes Familiarity with vital signs monitoring, medical imaging techniques, and pediatrics-specific care practices Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a real difference!
