Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring aseptic techniques are maintained. Take X-rays using digital imaging systems such as X-ray machines while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records accurately within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix ensuring proper documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures and addressing patient questions with professionalism and empathy. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation not limited to occasional front desk duties. Maintain infection control standards by following strict protocols for sterilization and handling of dental instruments and materials. Keep up-to-date with current dental terminology and anatomy knowledge to assist effectively across various specialties including pediatrics and endodontics. Qualifications 3 + Years experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures (willing to train the right candidate) Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix Ascend; experience with Epic or similar medical documentation platforms is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization protocols. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging devices safely and effectively. Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with patients of all ages including pediatrics; compassionate bedside manner is essential. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while supporting the dentist during various procedures like prosthodontics or endodontics treatments.
