Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection control protocols. Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging tools while maintaining proper aseptic technique. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring patient safety and adherence to HIPAA regulations for medical documentation and records management. Assist with medical documentation to support comprehensive patient assessments. Support chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency during procedures. Maintain infection control standards by adhering to OSHA guidelines, sterilizing instruments, and managing dental supplies effectively. Educate patients on dental terminology, procedures, and post-treatment care to promote oral health awareness. Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and medical terminology. * Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge, and HIPAA compliance. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively. Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training in chairside assisting; CPR certification is preferred. Knowledge of medical coding and documentation procedures for accurate record keeping.
