Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with expertise in chairside support, infection control, and patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations, delivering exceptional patient experiences, and supporting our dental professionals in providing comprehensive care. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry by providing chairside support and ensuring efficient workflow. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining accurate medical imaging records. Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records, and documenting treatment details accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation for patients requiring medical history updates or special care considerations. Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, managing patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to ensure precise communication and documentation within the practice. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with familiarity in dental assisting procedures across various specialties including pediatric dentistry. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic is a plus. Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures to ensure patient safety. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety standards. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dental care. Experience with 3D scanners or other advanced dental imaging technology is desirable. Excellent communication skills combined with a compassionate approach toward pediatric patients and their families. Certification in radiography or equivalent training preferred; additional certifications in infection control or pediatric dentistry are advantageous.
