Responsibilities Assist and support the endodontist during root canal procedures and other specialized endodontic treatments by managing instruments, materials, and dental supplies. Take and develop high-quality dental X-rays using digital imaging systems, including 3D CBCT imaging, to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records efficiently within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, ensuring all medical documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Provide patient education on procedures, including post-treatment care while demonstrating excellent communication skills. Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety and well-being. Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, updating dental records, and managing patient flow for a seamless clinic experience. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by adhering to infection control protocols and sterilization procedures aligned with OSHA standards. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques with experience in endodontics preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Familiarity with EMR systems for managing dental records and documentation. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including handheld X-ray machines and 3D CBCT imaging accurately and of diagnostic quality. Understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures to ensure patient safety. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients about procedures and post-treatment care. Experience working in a fast-paced dental clinic environment with a focus on four-handed dentistry for efficiency. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards related to medical records privacy and security. Ability to handle administrative tasks such as dental coding, record keeping, and coordinating appointments smoothly.
