Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Torrance, CA
Job Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and precision will help create a welcoming environment for patients and support the delivery of exceptional dental care. In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the clinic operates smoothly. We are a family practice with low volume patient seeing 10-16 patients a day. We work to ensure that our working environment is smooth and non-hectic as possible. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring an aseptic environment in accordance with infection control protocols. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with efficiency and professionalism. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners, ensuring accurate positioning and patient comfort. Manage patient records within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring all medical documentation complies with HIPAA regulations. Collect vital signs and medical history information from patients to support comprehensive care planning. Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care instructions, and infection control practices to promote oral health awareness. If able to, support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with dental receptionists and updating medical coding for billing purposes. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental assisting procedures and terminology. Proficiency Dentrix, or Open dental for managing medical records and documentation. Familiarity with infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while maintaining patient comfort and safety standards. Knowledge of dental specialties including surgeries (extractions, implants), endodontics, and general dentistry procedures is preferred. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists, hygienists, and dentists.
