Duties Assist the endodontists during a variety of dental procedures including root canal therapy, retreatments, and apicoectomies. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control and aseptic techniques. Take dental x-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and dental coding. Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures to promote a positive experience Support front administrative operations by assisting the dental receptionist with appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out, and handling medical documentation. Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment by following infection control protocols and ensuring all tools meet safety standards for aseptic technique. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems like TDO or PBS for managing medical records and documentation. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience performing chairside assisting, including four-handed dentistry techniques and X-ray procedures. Knowledge of infection control practices, sterilization processes, and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment such as digital X-ray machines and 3D scanners effectively.
