Responsibilities Perform thorough dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options to empower them in maintaining healthy smiles. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort. Take and interpret dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Maintain accurate medical records and document all patient interactions in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Review documentation for accuracy, ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, and assist with medical coding for billing purposes. Skills Proficiency in dental software platforms like Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, charting, and record management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Experience working in pediatric dentistry or general dentistry environments with a focus on pediatrics preferred. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards. Knowledge of vital signs monitoring, medical records management, and documentation review processes. Familiarity with EMR systems and medical coding to ensure accurate billing and compliance. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate with team members seamlessly.
