Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to prevent cavities and gum disease Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions Assist with chairside procedures such as taking dental radiographs (medical imaging) and preparing patients for treatment Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and reinforce preventive care strategies Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix Follow strict infection control protocols, including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures, to ensure patient safety Support general dentistry procedures by providing effective four-handed dentistry assistance during treatments Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental office or clinic setting Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry and pediatrics Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus, demonstrating comfort working with children and understanding pediatric-specific needs Strong understanding of infection control standards and HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and ensure compliance Ability to perform dental assisting duties including chairside assisting and patient care with professionalism and compassion Should be able to work on weekends and evening hours.
