Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling/root planning with anesthetic, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs. Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Review and update medical records accurately in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems (Dentrix), ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with dentists and other team members to coordinate patient care, review documentation, and ensure seamless treatment delivery. Skills Proficiency in dental software systems preferably Dentrix and Dexis for scheduling, documentation review, and record management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and medical coding standards. Skilled in dental imaging techniques, vital signs monitoring, and patient assessment protocols. Excellent communication skills for educating patients effectively about their oral health needs. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining aseptic technique in a fast-paced environment. Current CPR certification Familiarity with HIPAA compliance, medical records management, and documentation accuracy within a dental setting.
