We are a small family dental practice in the Sawtelle neighborhood of West Los Angeles. Our team is skilled, patient-centered, and committed to exceptional experiences. We offer a full range of services – from preventive care and cosmetic treatments to implants and advanced restorative procedures – all with a personalized, gentle approach. The office is one to two blocks from Sawtelle's popular restaurants, with close access to the 405 and 10 freeways.
About the role
You will be an experienced, friendly, and organized front office coordinator who plays a key role in the daily operations of our office: verifying insurance eligibility, welcoming patients, managing the appointment schedule, handling check-ins and check-outs, updating patient records, and communicating with patients, specialists, and other providers.
Schedule: Full-time, in-office
- Monday: 9 am – 5 pm
- Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 8 am – 5 pm
- Saturday: 8 am – 1 pm
Compensation: $23–$28/hour depending on experience

Responsibilities:
- Insurance eligibility verification: Check patients' coverage prior to appointments, ensure accurate billing information, and address coverage-related inquiries.
- Consent forms: Ensure all necessary forms are completed and signed before treatment begins, answer patient questions, and maintain organized records.
- Payment collection: Process copays, deductibles, and outstanding balances. Provide patients with clear explanations of their financial responsibilities and assist with payment arrangements when necessary.
- Scheduling: Manage appointments including return visits, confirmations, and daily schedule flow while respecting the team's meal breaks.
- Patient records: Log follow-up appointments, patient communications, and payments in Open Dental.
- Check-in: Obtain all necessary consents, confirm that account information is accurate, and promptly notify team members of each patient's arrival.
- Patient communication: Make and answer phone calls, emails, and text messages in a timely and professional manner.
- Opening preparation: Pull patient files, turn on devices, and tidy up the office to start the day.
Requirements:
- Previous front desk experience in a dental or medical office (required)
- Proficiency in Open Dental
- Ability to independently problem-solve
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
