Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental concerns to ensure safe and effective treatment. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs. Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort. Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance. Support infection control standards by sterilizing instruments, managing dental supplies, and following OSHA guidelines for safety and cleanliness. Collaborate with dentists and other team members to ensure seamless patient care delivery in both general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings. Experience Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification. Proven experience working in dental offices or clinics. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and documentation review processes. Hands-on experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix or Curve is highly preferred. Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, anatomy, and medical coding standards. Strong understanding of patient care principles, including patient assessment and medical records management. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations.
