Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments, ensuring efficient workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic technique to uphold infection control standards. Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging using advanced equipment such as 3D scanners, ensuring accurate positioning and patient comfort. Manage patient records by updating electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic with detailed medical documentation and coding. Measure vital signs and assess patient comfort levels before procedures to ensure safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support front desk operations by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and assisting with dental receptionist duties. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols and knowledge of anatomy to assist with complex procedures in general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatrics. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques essential for safe clinical practice. Experience with chairside assisting in various dental specialties including pediatric dentistry and prosthodontics. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment like X-ray machines and 3D scanners accurately. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times. Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish to effectively serve diverse patient populations. Understanding of medical terminology and medical coding relevant to dental procedures for accurate record-keeping and billing.
