Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Puyallup, WA

Join our dynamic dental team as an Orthodontic Assistant , where youâll play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting high-quality orthodontic treatments. In this hands-on position, youâll assist with chairside procedures, maintain accurate patient records, and help ensure a smooth, efficient clinical environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced setting and enjoys working with patients of all ages. Youâll help create confident, healthy smiles while upholding the highest standards of infection control and clinical excellence. Key Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with instruments, materials, and equipment for orthodontic procedures Assist orthodontists chairside with bracket placement, adjustments, and appliance installations using four-handed dentistry techniques Take and process digital X-rays and 3D scans while following safety protocols Maintain accurate patient records using EMR systems (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar) in compliance with HIPAA Educate patients on oral hygiene, appliance care, and post-treatment instructions Follow strict infection control and sterilization protocols Monitor vital signs and assist with clinical documentation as needed Support front office tasks such as scheduling and patient communication when needed Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient clinical environment Collaborate with the dental team on comprehensive treatment planning Qualifications Experience as a Orthodontic Assistant required Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices Experience with EMR systems (Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar) Ability to take X-rays and perform chairside assisting with proper aseptic technique Comfortable working with pediatric and general dentistry patients Excellent communication and patient care skills X-ray certification required; additional certifications are a plus Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Why Join Us?
