Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options to promote lifelong oral health. Take and interpret dental radiographs (medical imaging) while maintaining strict infection control and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems (Eaglesoft), ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review documentation for accuracy, update medical records, and assist with medical coding for billing purposes. Skills Proficiency in dental software platforms (Eaglesoft) for scheduling, charting, and documentation management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Ability to measure vital signs accurately and recognize signs that require further medical assessment or intervention. Familiarity with EMR systems, medical records management, and documentation review processes. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively while maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
