Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures in the scope of family dentistry, ensuring efficient workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies while maintaining infection control standards Take digital radiographs Monitor and record vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments Manage patient flow by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and coordinating with the team for smooth clinic operations Operate advanced equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning (training provided) Maintain a thorough understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical coding to ensure precise documentation and billing processes (training provided) Skills Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems for managing records and documentation Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures within a dental setting Experience with chairside assisting across general dentistry procedures Ability to accurately perform X-ray procedures while adhering to safety standards and radiation exposure guidelines Excellent communication skills to educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care A sense of humor and desire to connect with patients as people, not just a vehicle for teeth!
