Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including periodontal scaling and root planing, and periodontal maintenance Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, current dental conditions and periodontal charting Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies Assist the dentist during procedures with chairside support, ensuring a smooth workflow through four-handed dentistry techniques Take dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to infection control protocols Review, manage and complete data entry for electronic medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations Maintain sterile environment using aseptic techniques and proper infection control procedures Monitor patient comfort throughout treatments and provide compassionate care tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable Administer local anesthetic Assist with medical coding related to dental procedures for accurate treatment planning and recordkeeping Qualifications Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with Wyoming regulations Current CPR Certification Proven experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or dental clinic environments Proficiency with dental software systems such as Dentrix is highly preferred Strong knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, anatomy, and infection control standards Ability to perform patient care tasks including patient assessment, vital signs measurement, and chairside assisting Understanding of OSHA and HIPAA compliance requirements Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate with team members Laser certification is advantageous, but willing to train the right candidate Join us in providing outstanding dental care that transforms smiles!
