Dental Hygiene Assistant - Hugh Howard, DDS - La Verkin, UT

We are looking for a kind and hard-working dental hygiene assistant who will help make patients feel like family. You’ll engage with patients, ensure they are protected and well cared for, and lift basic hygiene tasks off the hygienist’s shoulders, including welcoming the patient, taking x-rays, polishing and flossing, and filling out the patient's chart. You should be well-organized with great attention to detail. You should be able to follow instructions and dental office regulations. Our employees are like a big family, so it is very important that you get along great with others and be a team player. Previous dental hygiene experience is not required but is a plus. We are willing to train the right person. Office hours are from 8:00am - 5:00pm. Must be available to work Tuesdays. Starting pay will be $13/hr with a raise to $15/hr after the first 3 months if employee works very well. Responsibilities Welcome patients in the dental office Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed Cleans and sterilizes hygiene room between each patient Sterilize instruments according to regulations Assist the hygienist with needed tasks and holding suction when needed Undertake lab tasks as instructed Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions Keep the hygiene room organized and well-stocked Help schedule appointments Maintain accurate patient records Skills Will train the right person, previous hygiene assisting experience a plus Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods a plus Understanding of health & safety regulations Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus Good computer skills Excellent communication and people skills a must!
