Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Marana, AZ
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the dental practice, providing exceptional support to both the dental team and patients. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain a high standard of patient care. Duties Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared in advance. Perform tasks such as taking X-rays, recording vital signs, and updating medical documentation accurately. Maintain infection control protocols by sterilizing instruments and ensuring cleanliness in the treatment area. Manage patient records using dental software systems such as Open Dental, Dentrix and Eaglesoft, including medical coding for billing purposes. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Support prosthodontics procedures by preparing materials and assisting during the fitting of dentures or other prosthetic devices. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure a positive patient experience through effective communication and teamwork. Requirements Previous experience as a Dental Assistant Familiarity with dental software system (Open Dental) is advantageous. Knowledge of medical documentation practices and infection control standards is required. Ability to assist in various dental procedures, including familiarity with prosthodontics. X-ray certified Proficiency in taking X-rays and recording vital signs accurately. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate dental coding and patient records management. Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
