Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and polishing procedures to maintain optimal oral health. Assist with patient assessments and review medical histories to ensure comprehensive care. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment instructions. Operate dental equipment such as radiography units for medical imaging under proper aseptic technique. Document treatment details accurately within systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ensure infection control standards are maintained according to HIPAA regulations and OSHA guidelines. Support the dental team with chairside assisting during various procedures, including pediatric dentistry when necessary. Review medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness. Maintain a sterile environment using proper infection control procedures and knowledge of anatomy. Experience Previous experience working in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review is advantageous. Experience with pediatric dentistry, four-handed dentistry, and general dentistry procedures is desirable. Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, is highly valued. Must be able to see 6-7 patients per day Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and infection control protocols is essential for success in this role.
