Job Summary River City Ministry is a faith based nonprofit that provides free dental care to the unsheltered and those living below the federal poverty threshold. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dentist to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality oral health care, build trusting relationships with patients, and promote preventive dental practices. Responsibilities Perform a wide range of dental procedures including examinations, cleanings, fillings, extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, and oral surgery with precision and care. Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical and dental histories, taking diagnostic images, and performing clinical examinations. Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs while explaining procedures clearly to ensure informed consent. Maintain accurate and detailed medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and dental office protocols. Utilize dental terminology effectively to communicate diagnoses and treatment options to patients. Implement infection control practices using aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety during all procedures. Collaborate with team members in four-handed dentistry to maximize efficiency and deliver high-quality patient care. Stay current with advancements in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery through ongoing education. Ensure proper management of medical records and adherence to HIPAA privacy standards at all times. Qualifications Valid state dental license with eligibility to practice as a General Dentist. Proven experience in general dentistry with proficiency in dental extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, and oral surgery. Familiarity with dental software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix or similar practice management systems. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and medical imaging techniques. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs compassionately and thoroughly. Experience working in a dental clinic or dental office environment is highly preferred. Ability to perform procedures efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles is a plus for treating younger patients effectively.
