Athens Area Pediatric Dentistry is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join our team. We are a small, patient-focused pediatric office providing high-quality care, including sedation and general anesthesia, for children and patients with special needs. Position Overview We are looking for a reliable and experienced assistant who can support clinical flow, assist chairside, and help maintain a safe and organized environment—especially during sedation and anesthesia cases. Experience with pediatric patients is strongly preferred. Experience with sedation/anesthesia is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate. Key Responsibilities Chairside assisting during pediatric dental procedures Assist during sedation and anesthesia cases Take and record patient vitals Perform coronal polishing Take dental radiographs Enter patient notes and assist in creating treatment plans on EHR. Prepare and turn over operatories Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control standards Help create a positive and comfortable experience for children and parents Requirements Dental assisting experience required BLS certification (required) X-ray certification (preferred) Coronal polishing certification (preferred) Experience with Open Dental software (a plus) Strong attention to detail with clinical documentation Comfortable working with children Team-oriented and dependable Compensation $20 – $25 per hour , based on experience and skill level Benefits Paid vacation and PTO (available after 1 year of employment) Office snack bar Supportive and positive work environment Small office setting with a close-knit team Why Join Us We are a privately owned pediatric dental office with a strong team culture and high standards of care.
