Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental hygiene, patient education, and clinical procedures, with a focus on promoting optimal oral health. This role involves delivering high-quality preventive care, assisting with patient assessments, and supporting the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Duties Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to prevent decay and gum disease. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review, ensuring comprehensive documentation. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, dietary habits, and preventive strategies to enhance their oral health outcomes. Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort. Take and interpret dental radiographs (medical imaging) while maintaining strict infection control protocols. Review medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Maintain sterilization standards using aseptic techniques and ensure the cleanliness of all clinical areas. Requirements Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations. Proficiency in the dental software system Dentrix for charting, scheduling, and record management is a plus. Experience working in with all age groups. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical coding procedures. Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance. Excellent patient care skills with a focus on education, empathy, and professionalism in all interactions.
