Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) using advanced digital equipment Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment plans Assist the dentist during procedures with chairside assisting, ensuring infection control and aseptic techniques are maintained Review and update medical records accurately in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, providing compassionate care tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a fast-paced dental clinic or office environment Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and HIPAA regulations Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus, demonstrating comfort working with children and understanding pediatric-specific needs Ability to perform general dentistry procedures such as patient care assessments, vital signs measurement, and documentation review Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental care and medical records management Prior experience in chairside assisting and implementing infection control practices in accordance with OSHA standards .
