Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team! Our modern office is celebrating 20 years in Yorkville! In this vital role, you will deliver exceptional patient care by providing thorough dental cleanings, assessments, and education while ensuring a comfortable and positive experience for every patient. We would like the RDH to be able to use the I-tero scanner to help with patient education and Invisalign discussion . This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your clinical skills, foster patient relationships, and contribute to a healthy smile for our community. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth, removing plaque and tartar, and applying fluoride treatments to maintain oral health. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions. Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort. Take digital dental radiographs (medical imaging) . Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong oral health habits. Maintain detailed and accurate medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Review documentation for accuracy, update patient charts, and assist with medical coding as needed for billing purposes. Qualifications Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience in dental office settings with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and infection control standards. Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Strong understanding of anatomy, medical records management, and aseptic techniques to ensure safe practice. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly.
