Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Oceanside, NY
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by performing professional dental cleanings, assessments, and preventive treatments. Our office is aiming to be high-volume practice , and hygienists can see up to 2â3 patients per hour , so the ideal candidate is comfortable working in a productive, fast-paced setting. Your expertise will help promote optimal oral health and create positive patient experiences in a friendly, professional environment. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth, removing plaque and tartar, and applying fluoride treatments Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories and evaluating oral conditions Take digital X-rays while following proper infection control and safety protocols Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions Maintain accurate dental records using EMR systems (e.g., Dentrix Ascend) Ensure proper documentation and catch insurance-related notes when needed Follow sterilization, infection control, and office safety procedures Help maintain a smooth and efficient daily schedule while providing a positive patient experience Requirements Active NY state Dental Hygienist license (required) Experience is preferred, but not required â new graduates are encouraged to apply Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment is strongly encouraged Familiarity with dental software (Dentrix Ascend or similar) is a plus Basic knowledge of dental and medical terminology is helpful Understanding of infection control and sterilization protocols Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude Willingness to learn, stay organized, and adapt throughout the day Join us to make a difference in patientsâ lives through compassionate care and teamwork.
