Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Hygienist to join our team on a part-time basis, working exclusively during our hygienist sick leave coverage on needed only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent patient care abilities, and a thorough understanding of dental hygiene practices. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to our patients' well-being while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth in accordance with established protocols. Assess patient oral health status by reviewing medical histories and conducting oral examinations. Take and interpret vital signs and medical imaging as needed to support patient assessments. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Follow strict infection control procedures using aseptic techniques to ensure a safe clinical environment. Collaborate effectively with the dental team using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficient patient care delivery. Requirements Valid dental hygiene license with current registration in the relevant jurisdiction. Experience working in dental clinics or dental offices. Proficiency in dental software systems such as Open Dental & DTX. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and medical coding standards. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately.
