FlossTime is looking for a full-time, lead dental hygienist to join our team on the campus of UMass Amherst for three-to-four days starting middle/end of Summer 2026. Working with us, you’ll have the opportunity to step in as the lead dental hygienist of our full-time, on-campus clinic @ UMass Amherst. Our on-site clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art, high-tech tools designed for modern dental professionals who want to elevate their skills and continue to grow their career in the dental industry. Days of week @ UMass Amherst clinic: Tues, Wed, Thurs to start, then will increase to four days as needed… (3-4 day weekends, every weekend!) Focus on Patient Care – Our dedicated team handles all administrative tasks, from treatment planning and billing to patient communication, so you can focus entirely on providing top-quality care and building lasting patient relationships based on trust. Responsibilities/General Requirements Deliver high-quality preventive dental care, including prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, numbing/injections, fluoride treatments, oral cancer screenings, radiographs, and comprehensive periodontal charting. Assess, record, and monitor periodontal conditions, identifying signs of gingivitis and periodontal disease to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning Ensure all clinical procedures are performed in compliance with ADA guidelines and applicable regulatory standards Operate dental equipment, including handheld X-ray systems such as the Nomad Pro 2 Create a welcoming, comfortable patient experience through clear communication and positive engagement. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, plaque control, brushing/flossing, and post-treatment care, while encouraging continuity of care through future visit scheduling Accurately document clinical findings, periodontal charting, and treatment notes within EMR systems (Dentrix Ascend) Qualifications New graduates and experienced Registered Dental Hygienists are encouraged to apply Active Massachusetts Registered Dental Hygienist license Strong knowledge of dental terminology, clinical procedures, and periodontal assessment Familiarity with medical documentation and electronic records systems Willingness to learn and grow—training provided for new graduates Dental assisting experience is a plus Ready to start?
