Job Summary FULL TIME or PART TIME (Wed/FRI) OPTIONS AVAILABLE. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our team at Islander Orthodontics. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting Dr. Borda in delivering high-quality treatment. This position is currently available as either a full-time or part-time position: clinic hours of 7am-4pm. We are a relatively new start-up office (2023). This is an exciting opportunity to help the office grow and work with a small, caring, and fun team. Responsibilities Assist orthodontists during various procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and optimal patient comfort. Place initial appliances with the orthodontist (braces or clear aligners) Take radiographic and photographic records for new patient exams Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and maintaining an organized environment. Perform tasks such as taking digital scans, digital X-rays, and managing medical records accurately. Work with orthodontic software (Greyfinch) in scheduling patients, managing notes, and records. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient scheduling and patient management. Support our amazing patients by creating a welcoming atmosphere and addressing their concerns effectively. Requirements Previous experience as an Orthodontic Assistant (1year) Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work well in a team environment and independantly Proficiency in using dental software, taking photographic records, and radiographs (pano/ceph) This position requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to provide compassionate care to our patients.
