Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Clearwater, FL

The Dental Assistant plays a vital role in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care within a mission-driven, non-profit dental clinic. Working alongside multiple dentists and volunteers in a state-of-the-art facility centrally located in Clearwater, this position supports high-quality care in a fast-paced environment while ensuring every patient feels welcomed, respected, and comfortable. The ideal candidate is clinically skilled, adaptable, and committed to serving diverse and often underserved populations with empathy and professionalism. Experience or familiarity with advanced dental technology and digital workflows is highly valued as the clinic continues to expand its use of CEREC scanning, milling, and 3D printing technologies. Key Responsibilities: Greet and prepare patients with warmth, ensuring comfort and dignity throughout their visit. Assist multiple dentists chairside using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain treatment rooms in compliance with infection control standards. Accurately document patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and clinical notes. Take and process dental radiographs as directed. Support digital workflows including intraoral scanning (CEREC) and assist with milling procedures and 3D printing when applicable. Perform impressions and assist with laboratory procedures. Sterilize instruments and maintain clean, organized clinical and lab areas. Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive care in a supportive, non-judgmental manner. Support clinic operations including charting, lab coordination, and inventory management. Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of dental assisting experience required EFDA or RDA certification required Dental radiology certification required Current BLS certification required High School Diploma or equivalent Skills & Abilities: Strong clinical knowledge and attention to detail Ability to multitask and work efficiently with multiple providers Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills Compassionate, patient-centered approach Familiarity with digital dentistry workflows (CEREC scanning/milling) is a plus Experience with or interest in 3D printing technologies is a plus Schedule & Benefits: Full-time, MondayâFriday (8:00 amâ5:00 pm) PTO and paid holidays per clinic policy Pay: From $23.00 per hour Benefits: Paid time off Experience: Dental Assisting: 2 years (Preferred) License/Certification: EFDA Certification or RDA (Preferred) Work Location: In person
