Responsibilities Assist endodontists during complex root canal procedures by preparing instruments, materials, and ensuring the operatory is fully equipped. Operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners to capture high-quality images necessary for diagnosis and treatment planning. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support infection control protocols through aseptic technique, sterilization of instruments, and maintaining a sterile environment in the treatment area. Manage patient flow efficiently by greeting patients, updating vital signs, and assisting with medical history updates relevant to endodontic procedures. Provide chairside assistance with dental terminology understanding, ensuring smooth communication between the patient and the dental team. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments, verify insurance information, and handle patient inquiries related to endodontic treatments. Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures when necessary, demonstrating knowledge of pediatrics-specific protocols and safety measures. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is required, preferably supporting endodontic or general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry to improve efficiency during procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation seamlessly. Knowledge of dental terminology related to endodontics, prosthodontics, and anatomy to facilitate effective communication within the team. Experience operating medical imaging devices like X-ray machines and 3D scanners for diagnostic purposes. Understanding of infection control standards and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Ability to assist with vital signs measurement and basic pediatric dentistry procedures when required.
